Ignore Board In New Posts
It's not unusual for a forum to have a test board or sand box where people can play with different forum features and experiment with formatting their posts. It's annoying however to see these posts appear in the new posts listing. Individual members can set the test board to be ignored, but only if SMF's Ignore Boards Options is enabled.
This modification allows the board of your choice to be globally ignored irrespective of whether the Ignore Boards Options is enabled, and irrespective of individual member settings. After applying this modification you can select which board to ignore by going to Admin -> Configuration -> Modifications. Then set Ignore board in new posts to the number of the board you want to ignore. To get the number of your chosen board, go to the forum index and hover your mouse over the name of the board. You will see part of the URL as e.g. board=28.0;. Just use the integer part of that number, e.g. 28. That's what you put in the box, then hit "Save" to activate it. To disable the feature either clear the box and hit "Save" or uninstall the mod.
Note that this feature applies to both Show unread posts since your last visit and Show new replies to your posts but only for the board that is configured to be ignored.
To configure, go to Admin -> Configuration -> Modifications -> Miscellaneous, and enter the number of the board that you want to ignore.
Version 1.0 (Aug. 13, 2008) original release.
