The Most Recent Posts mod gives you the option to remove the link 'View the most recent posts on the forum.' from the Forum Stats in board index.

* Enable/Disable option from Admin->Current Theme

This mod installs on preinstalled themes 'default' and 'core', to other themes that use 'BoardIndex.template.php' and 'Settings.template.php' you must make the changes by hand.
